Bird in Flight

Bird in Flight
What were the odds of capturing this bird in flight? I’d guess it’s diving at well over 100 mph, which means it would be in the frame of this photo for less than 1/10th of a second. A local bird expert has identified it as a White-throated Swift (thanks Keith G.).

I took this photo of my two hiking companions on the summit of Turtlehead Peak outside Las Vegas with a Canon Powershot S80 at a shutter speed of 1/1000.
Photo date = 20-May-2006.

I've never seen those birds there before. Guess I just blink to much!

Great shot of a lovely bird! The shot has that strange quality about it, like when someone ,makes one of those strange shots with a "being" in thit!
