Birder's paradise | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |
Just across the highway from Fields Oregon is a swampy area that is famous for the different varieties of birds that rest there. Since we couldn't go after the mountain we came for, Bob was able to go to his second love, Birding. Bob has well over half the species of north america on his life list and Bob wasn't alone in this pursuit. There must have been fifteen to twenty others that were into birding and were excited about one bird in particular that was from the east coast and was not normal for this area. I worked on my life list as well, but Bob said "big bird, surfin bird, and dirty bird" didn't count. Actually I learned a lot about this hobby that others are very much passionate about. It looks like a natural to combine with peakbagging. 5-27-06 Here's a nice trip report with some great pics from NWHikers dot net |
