If I am not wrong...

The name should be Bivacco Ravelli, I have slept here one night in the summer of 2002 and I was guessing about the name because is the same of the one of an hut in ValSesia.

Yes, you are not wrong. Silly mistake. I changed the caption. Thank you very much for the corretion. On the main page the name is correct. Did you climb Grande Rousse after sleeping in the bivy? To me it looked very steep and very dangerous because of rockfall.

We ventured on the spur above the hut, that should be the normal route, but we give up for the continuous hearing of rock falls.
We didn't feel secure in that place.
I think that route is quite dangerous during the warmest days of summer.
If I should came back I would choose early October, when the weather is colder and the days are not too short.
During spring I think that rock falls are less frequent but the problem could be avalanches if there is still much snow.
Anyhow I have been in that area only once, so I am not an expert.
