| Did the Blackhead range with three friends. Great weather, not too much ice. Microspikes were sufficient (barely, at times), and I was glad we had one ice axe to share between us. | ||

| Went over the Blackhead range and Windham with two friends. Had called a taxi to pick us up at the end to drive us back to our car, but it left us stranded! Was thankfully able to get a ride from another hiker. | ||

| Hiked with Thomas Cole and Blackhead via the Black Dome Range trail from Big Hollow road. Descended down the Batavia Kill trail from Blackhead. Overcast day but it was a great first hike in the Catskills for me. | ||

| Climbed with Blackhead and Thomas Cole via the Black Dome Range Trail from Big Hollow Road. This part of the Black Dome Range Trail is a beautiful hike through open woods leading to exposed ledges with great views. | |

| Hit Black Dome, Thomas Cole and Blackhead from Big Hollow road. Descended Blackhead on N. side via Escarpment Trail - very icy, would have used a rope if I had brought one. Lots of fresh snow, kept snowshoes on all day. | |

| After I went up Blackhead I went on to Black Dome, and then to Thomas Cole. There is a nice viewpoint by the summit. On my way to Thomas Cole I ran into some guys who camped by the summit the night before, and on my back I ran into this group having this philosophical discussion, which was interesting. I just sat there and listened. A lot of talk about the enneagram, which I never heard of. | |

| Camped on the summit in Jan on superbowl weekend, and the Giants won! Two great moments on a cold weekend. I've actually been up BDome 3 or 4 times, twice in winter. Summer summit camping sucks, too many porcupines. | |
