Black Hope - From Saddle Yoke
This is the stunning valley of Black Hope that runs deep into the Moffat Hills. It was created through glacial action that ripped the deep gully out of the hills leaving the lovely cliffs that overlook the water of Blackhope Burn that meanders out of the valley to join the river of Moffat Water. This is a really stunning valley to investigate either by doing a circular route on the ridges of Saddle Yoke and Swatte Fell that over look it or even a simple non strenious walk up the farm dirt track that leads up to the very end. The cliffs and the sound of the running water make this place very special.
