Best Ever
This time of year is the best. The Bergschrund was completely snowed in and we only had to do a steep snow climb from camp on the glacier. Perfect weather conditions. Two rope teams made it up. This was my favorite climb of all time, including outside the park.
Hiked to the glacial basin, camped, and ascended the glacier in 100 degree heat. One for the books.

Blackfoot
06/03/19 w/Kyrah Kirchner, Ryan Stadheim, and Paul Fotter.
What an incredible day. Experienced just about everything that is great about Glacier on this ascent.
Climbed in: 1) August 2001 (with Rick Hanners, lower glaciers were dry, hard ice); 2) July 2002, lead a GMS group of 4-5, also bagged Walton that trip; 3) July 2006 with J. Foster & R. Laudati. Tried Walton & got weathered off, but had a great trip up Blackfoot.
Always hauled overnight gear in & camped at Jackson Glacier basin, attempted multiple peaks in the area. The glaciers continue to recede and getting around the ice cliff is more challenging each trip.
As BFrench says, it would be a very long day from the road.

Blackfoot Mt.2012 - w/ Xenja Poljakowa
Also climbed Mt. Logan and reached Blackfoot Mt. from ridge between the two, descended via Blackfoot Glacier to eastern terminal moraine.

long day on BlackfootClimbed this twice. Once with buddy Larry, H. late season, and got caught in a snow storm, high on the mountain. One of my most EPIC trips!
