Follow directions given in the "Directions" section.

Route Description

As I did not summit Mount Blackmore, I am posting these directions from a web search. A portion of these directions are from "Outside Bozeman".

Starting at the well marked trailhead at the power end of Hyalite Reservoir, follow the well used trail (#423) as follows the meanders of Blackmore Creek. There are numerous switchbacks along the lower protion of the trail as it winds it way through the dense pines. The trail dips down as it passes along Blackmore Lake, then steadily climbs along the upper portions of the creek continuing with the switchbacks which lead to a scenis meadow which is located below a final steep, headwall. The trail climbs the headwall with several long switchbacks which lead to the saddle between Elephant Mountain and Mount Blackmore. Leaving the saddle, it's an easy hike along the southeast ridge leading to the summit

Essential Gear

Boots and hiking poles are all that is required during the summer months. Bear spray would also be an excellent idea.
