Just perusing around for some info. I noticed you call Blacksmith the NW end of the Sawtooth Ridge. But the 7.5' map shows it closer to the middle, with Peak 11,569ft being the westernmost point.
Well Bob, I guess it's a matter of perspective. I consider the Sawtooth Ridge, proper, to run from Matterhorn Peak to Blacksmith Peak, or vice versa, as that is the most spectacular section of the ridge. You are correct that the map indicates the ridge runs along to Peak 11,569, but the ridge west of Blacksmith is much diminished in comparison. Tecnically the statement may be incorrect, but aesthetically it is correct.
