| Beautiful night atop Blood Mountain. There was a small rave party going on during my hike up there. Somewhat surreal. | ||

| Sarah Simon | AT SoBo section hike from Neels Gap ![]() Date Climbed: May 6, 2010 | |
| So, I'll save the story another time and place as to how we ended up SoBo at this point... We enjoyed the hike up from Neels Gap. The day was clear and the humidity low for this part of the country. The views from the top were astounding. | ||

| First climb in GA, first hike in GA, first time exploring in N.GA! Great hike with so much to see. Did it as an afternoon hike, using Vogel S.P. as base camp. Very rainy couple days, as it added to the experience. Nice destination hike with the option of a day loop. Enjoyed by all. | ||

| montanachris | Bitter cold and beautiful ![]() Date Climbed: Dec 22, 2008 | |
| Hiked to the summit via Bryon Reece trail on the coldest day so far this year! The air was remarkably clean and crisp. Very cold strong headwind hiking toward the north on the switchbacks. Easily one of the best mountain hikes in GA. | ||

| Fun hike but much tougher than I expected. Dont remember what trail we took but it was about 8 miles to the shelter. Very hot, and then very thunderstormy and scary. But a real fun hike. We were too tired too hike the 8 miles back to the car the next day so we hiked down to the store and someone was nice enough to drive us to our car for $20. Fun adventure. | ||

| LilBird | Ahh, honeymoon hiking ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 3, 2003 | |
| This was the first mountain that I'd ever climbed/hiked. Contrary to what my hubby believes I wasn't stressed out, I was hungry, thirsty, and getting tired. Other than that the hike wasn't that bad. It was quite hot even though it was getting on in the afternoon and it was quite nice at the top. | ||

| TBFredericks | Ascent of Both Faces, One Day ![]() Date Climbed: Mar 10, 2008 | |
| Soloed up from Walasi-Yi, then down the other end to climb Slaughter Mountain, and back up on my way out. By the way, I parked at the store, completely missing the fact that hikers aren't supposed to park there, but got away with it. | ||

| rfolkenberg | Thunderstorm Hike Date Climbed: Sep 20, 2006 | |
| Went up and partway ran into a terrible thunderstorm. Lightning and thunder, terrible rain, and I had a video camera! Should be interesting footage. Stuff was so soaked when we got to the top we just went on down. | ||

| johnmnichols | Cool summit ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 25, 2004 | |
| The summit can also be attained via the AT from Wolfpen Gap (3300 ft) along GA 180. It's a slightly longer, but less rocky/steep approach than the one from the US 19 side at Neels Gap. For even more vertical, summit from Vogel State Park (2270 ft) as part of the Coosa Backcountry Loop. | ||

| TiogaBradford | We Heard It Is a Nice View ![]() Date Climbed: Dec 15, 2007 | |
| Climbed up via the Byron Reese trail. It was a cloudy, overcast day with a front moving in, and by the time we got to the top, it began raining. There was no view whatsoever from the top, though we talked to others who said it's wondeful. We got thoroughly soaked on the way down, but still had a great time! | ||

| captainbuuda | My 1st summit ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 3, 2003 | |
| Me and my wife honeymooned at the Blood Mtn cabins and took this hike late in the afternoon. It was an awesome experience for me that started my obsession with the mountains. My wife was pretty stressed by the experience, though, since we went up without flashlights and got back to the cabin just after dark. | ||

| Really nice day out with my Uncle. We climbed Brasstown and then headed up Blood. Took an hour or so to reach the summit. The views were the best I've seen in GA. Really peaceful hike and experience. Great fall colors. | ||
