Blown off course . . .
June 5th, 2008 - In the midst of the whiteout, there were a lot of small birds such as this one flying through the clouds. Apparently they had been blown off course and were becoming exhausted as they struggled to find their way out. The birds would tire and then perch on anything that wasn't covered in snow, including climbers' packs and sleds!

Sadly many of these birds never found their way and were doomed to die on the glacier.
