I was impressed that some can drive that last 0.6 miles to the end of the road, it is pretty steep and I elected to park and walk that last bit of road as even my Tacoma might have had problems (my tires aren't agressive enough). The views were terrific and very little snow remained for us to enjoy. Did this one after doing Hot Springs Peak north of Golconda earlier in the day. My partner was Brett Hathaway.
After driving a full day to reach Fields,OR and finding they had no vacancy at their motel, my girlfriend and I drove on down to Winnemucca and stayed at "Winners" where the rooms take 3 hours to reach 65 degrees with the heat on full blast ugh... The next morning with beautiful weather we drove a short distance out to Blue Mountain using Dennis Poulin's directions and did this as a mid day hike. Nice January weather, great views, good company, fun hike.
"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."
