Bogatin and Mahavscek

Bogatin and Mahavscek

These are the last (or first) two summits in the long South Bohinj Range. On the left is Mali Bogatin, 1977 m, on the right is Veliki Bogatin, known also as Mahavšček, 2008 m. In summer, on Mali Bogatin the marked route goes by the ridge we see in the front towards the right. In winter it is easier to ascend more from the right (west) side. On Mahavšček you go by the ridge, which connects the two summits. One summer path comes also from the other side. Skiing is best done by the flank, seen on the left (steep) and then further left on Komna plateau. March 9th, 2014.
