Good for training, but nothing else  Sucess!

I started at miller gulch trailhead on bogus basin road and started hiking on corrals trail for a mile until it branched off into hard guy trail and took that all the way to a forest service road at the top. From there, there is no official trail to Boise peak, so you'll walk the road until you get to the base of the peak and then bushwack to the top. There's no marker of where the top actually is and absolutely nothing there. It's not a very exciting or beautiful climb still enjoyed doing it though.

It's awful, don't do it  Sucess!

It was there so I had to do it, but if it's rewarding views you want, skip this one! Started by hiking Upper Hulls Gulch to where it intersects with 8th St Extension again, hiked up that to the Ridge Road, made my way up to where GPS said the mountain was (confusing, brushy, and frustrating from the southwest - come from the south instead), and there's literally nothing there. No views, no cairns, no summit post, no register. Just a bunch of trees and brush. Good training, very boring. Go elsewhere.

Had to do it  Sucess!

Definitely not a hard hike from the road- road itself was more of a challenge. Had to do it anyway!

via 8th Street Road  Sucess!

The 8th Street Road to 6000' is a beauty! As the Brits would say: "that road is not for the nervous". Crackie!

From my front door!  Sucess!

When I lived off of Hill Rd I walked from my house to Camels Back Park and hiked up the trails to 8th St and up to the summit. It was a long day and I remember getting a few strange looks. It took about 9hrs door to door.

Hiked up 8th street from the Hulls Gulch Parking Lot. It was a long, long, hot, hot hike. Glad I had lots of water.

From Reserve.  Sucess!

I like to run/walk from Reserve and then come down to Rocky Canyon. Nice to come out into the trees at the ridge.

pretty views

Rode my bike most of the way to the top in the fall, walked the rest of the way. There are nice views of the Boise front from the top.

From Crooked Summit  Sucess!

Hiked up the partially overgrown "Eagleson Summit Rd" from Crooked Summit (8 miles RT, 2k gain). Quite a bit more forest on this side of the mountain, but it takes longer to get to the trailhead (~1hr from Boise). The wildflowers were a definite highlight. Did see quite a few dirt bikes, but not as many as I thought I would have. Here’s a trip-report and some photos.

Hot Hike!  Sucess!

I should have picked a cooler day! I was drowning in sweat after only a few minutes but it was a fun hike.... until I ran into a rattlesnake!
