| Climbed this peak during a 3-day solo trip into the Marbles. It was quite cold; temps didn't get much above freezing during the day and they hovered between 5 and 10 degrees below zero at night. Initial approach was fairly easy with little snow, however the ground and most of the stream crossings were frozen. Final climb was covered with about a foot of snow with no obvious trail. Ascended a steep, narrow gulley in the middle of the west face of the peak. Ice axe was a necessity, however I made it up just fine without crampons. A little sketchy at times, but all in all a fun climb with an incredible view of Mt. Shasta as a reward. |
