Box Elder from the NNW....
Box Elder from the NNW. Notice the terracing. These were dug out by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) sometime between 1933 and 1942. Their purpose was to prevent erosion caused by years of overgrazing. Terraces can be seen all over Wasatch mountains. Photo taken on 9/19/05.

... is best? Keep both of them. They are both nice shots of Box Elder and the one with the terracing info is interesting.
