Box Elder from the NNW. Notice the terracing. These were dug out by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) sometime between 1933 and 1942. Their purpose was to prevent erosion caused by years of overgrazing. Terraces can be seen all over Wasatch mountains. Photo taken on 9/19/05. Comments [ Post a Comment ]
