I hate to dissapoint you, but you haven't climbed North Peak. North Peak is over a mile north-east from the spot where you took this picture.

Anya Jingle really knows her Peaks! By the way, do you remember which route you took to reach the arch and summit area of Bridge Mountain? I was just curious. I remember seeing on a Green Trails map in that outdoor (equipment) store on west Charleston where a trail comes in from the western side of the Red Rock escarpment.
Have a nice day and take care! - Larry

I took the traditional trail from Red Rock Summit (which is well marked and easy to follow). After I followed the rock cairns and "ditto" black marks along the sandstone, I veered northeast at the base of Bridge to the crack, continued east up the crack (and climbed the somewhat exposed rock to the right/south of the crack). At the top of the crack, I turned left/north until I reached the arch. Above the arch, I climbed the sandstone by the dead log up to the hidden forest. I traversed around the hidden forest at the south end and continued on to the summit. I learned of this route from Branch Whitney's book, HIKING LAS VEGAS. It helped a lot, although I found some of the route finding with the cairns and black marks a little challenging in the snow! Not sure if this is the trail you refer to from the map, but it is a cool hike/scramble and one I would do again!

Branch Whitney? Is he an Sp-member? I've heard the NAME, but haven't seen the face.

Where is Red Rock Summit? I have to do some further reading and research. Gee - I'm never going to be up there with some of the other Las Vegas members in the proper identification and naming of peaks and trailheads. I knew Nevada was the most mountainous state in the lower 48 before I got here, but this is embarassing. Think I'll just wait until Courtney's book comes out.
