British 1970 South Face...

British 1970 South Face Expedition Route. Expedition leader was Chris Bonnington. Other expedition member were: Ian Clough (who was killed on the descent), Martin Boysen, Mick Burk, Nick Escourt, Dougal Haston, Mike Thompson, Don Whillans, and Tom Frost (American). On May 27, Dougal Haston and Don Whillans summitted and thus completed on the greatest climbs ever done in the Himalayas.---- A=True summit B=Central Summit--- Photo taken December 24 2001 from South Basecamp.

A True Classic

I remember reading "Annapurna South Face" while I was in High School in the mid 70's. It was my first book about Big Time Himalayan Mountaineering. It was a great read, and I was hooked!
BTW, It was Dougal Haston, not Hansen.
