Thanks...those brookies and the 1 lake trout made the hike up to there well worth it. Never seen 6 inches of water below the snow but above the ice. Lost a few fish in that zone. Ended up catching 34 Brookies and one Laker!

I should have mentioned that the yellow leaves and snow in the background in that photo are superb.

Ahh a trick of the fading sun. Those are pine trees back there with the last of the light on them.

Although with the MILD...well better say ALMOST NON EXISTANT winter we are having it felt more like fall up there. We only have 28 inches on the ground...we should have well over 70 by now. The worst year on record was 1972....we are close to that this year. Dying to get out backcountry skiing again...need that snow!
