Too much snow from a recent storm had Matthew and I abandoning our quest to Sugarloaf. Went up Mitchell, Lookout Peak, Buck Rock and Big Baldy instead. Trip Report

Beautiful view from the top, enjoyed talking to the lookout and watching the high altitude hummingbirds at her feeder. It was a very cold day up there, though. The first storm of the season had just passed through...

Similar positive hold like that of Owens River Gorge, Leatherface offered a variety of things: horizontal cracks, face, friction and high quality rock. Nice bolt and gear route.

At first, I was a bit intimidated to try MTY as a lead climb, especially with an overhanging base to anchors ratio of 40 feet! But once I scoped the route, psyched myself up and started up on the huge jugs, the fear had fizzled. 'Mowing The Yawn' is one of THE BEST Sierra sport climbs I have ever been on! Amazing vista, clean rock and no crowds!
