I couldn't get to Granite because FR084 was closed but above where I was stopped was this lovely sharp peak with a likely looking route up the west side. My GPS told me it was Buckskin Mountain, so up I went.
A lovely scramble up to the south ridge, then as easy walk on snow to the top from where the views were simply stunning. The Santa Rosas close at hand and Pueblo and Steens off in the distance to the north.
Didn't see any other evidence of passage, especially not on the west face. I doubt if many (any?) come this way.
