Date Climbed: Jul 24, 2017
Nice drive in the mountains. Lots of wildflowers in the meadows. I barely made the top before a big thunderstorm came in.

thigbeeHad a good time  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 4, 2016

I hiked up, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Barely any bushwhacking. The cirque was beautiful and worth the hike alone. It snowed on me at the top!

Trip report, pics, map, GPX, etc. on my blog here: http://thealoof.com/bull-mountain-raft-river-mountains-lake-fork/

Date Climbed: Aug 19, 2016

Well, it's not the most glorious way to a summit, but we drove to the top of this one. We also tried driving from the top down to Bull Lake... That didn't work so well.

Didn't see the point of doing what's described as an unpleasant bushwhack when there's a road to the top and lots of other peaks in the area. Also went to George Peak, 9335 and Bally Mountains HP.

sharpaBushwhacking  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 4, 2014

I hiked up from Clear Creek Campground. I completely lost the trail above 8500' - lots of bushwhacking. The cirque is pretty cool. The summit is sort of a downer and views weren't great due to hazy air. I started to descend via Bull Canyon and quickly lost the trail after the spring shown on the map. I bushwhacked for a while before giving up and heading back the way I came.

7/13/2013 From the Clear Creek Campground. We missed the cutoff trail to the appropriate drainage, therefore we found ourselves bushwhacking through mass undergrowth, deadfall, and stinging nettle to gain the ridge. From the ridge we gained the plateau close to 2 miles before the summit. We found ourselves wondering a bit before we tracked down the summit cairn. Pretty discouraging seeing a road to the top after several hours of miserable hiking. Took a couple summit photos amongst the cattle before returning to our camp.

The route from Clear Creek is amazing! So diverse. The middle portion was incredibly green with ferns and mosses and all sorts of short lush ground cover. Very out of character witht he rest of the area around here that I have seen. The cirque up top was another treat. The viw from the actual highpoint is good, but if you hike a few minutes south you get the expanse of the Salt Flats and the Great Salt Lake. You can see Ibapah in the distance, but what looks so bizarre from this point of view is the reclusive Desert Peak in the Newfoundland range. Extremely isolated. I thought I could make out Spiral Jetty in my monocular. Just wanted to say that Clear creak is the way to go. This was one of my favorite of the Utah county summits as a result and I only have 3 left so that says something. If you are driving to the top that is OK, but maybe you should question yourself as to just why you are doing th e county highpoints in the first place.

This was a nice peak en route tyo a family reunion in Albion ID.

joseyinnetReally smoky  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 15, 2012

Did this on the scenic route to the Salt Lake airport. Smoke from Nevada made it seem like it was perpetual twilight, but there were lots of wildlife. I'd love to go back when I could actually see more.

4th cohp of the day (3 peaks - but one was a "twofer"). Beautiful summer day.

Attempted to summit Bull Mountain, had some difficulty losing the trail through the groves below the lake and meadow area. Hiking partner wasn't too excited about route finding (not a big deal for myself but was freaking her out), so I conceded to come back another time to complete the trip.

The western columbines were in blossom along the creak, and I would have to say that it was the most unexpected and perhaps most impressive display of wildflowers that I have ever seen. Hallowed ground for me.

Drove until the snow blocked the road, which left about 2.5 miles each way. Nice hike, but I did get a fair amount of strange looks from hunters that were trying to understand what I was doing, walking my dog up there.

Date Climbed: Jul 31, 2010

Climbed from Clear Creek CG. After the stream crossing, it was an unpleasant bushwack to the west shoulder. Encountered a thunderstorm on the way down. The cirque was beautiful

Went up from the campground through Lake Fork Drainage. Not a soul on the mountain but me. Had to do a little bushwacking because the trail was sketchy.

I spent the night in Snowville after biking the MS100 in Logan the day before. This was a nice side trip and completes another of the vital CoHP's (more details in the Trip Report).

This was a nice summer hike in a rarely visited area. We came in from the Clear Creek Campground and up the lake fork drainage to the summit. This was a nice hike that we both enjoyed!
