I have a question regarding Cottonwood Ridge. If a person wanted to traverse the
ridge from east to west, where would they
sign the register?
Are those Alpine firs? They look so beautiful with the lighter-colored rock.
Is that a lake down there? Nice scenery ... | | Posted Sep 21, 2009 11:00 am |

Register? There isn’t a register for Cottonwood Ridge. The Wasatch Mountains don’t seem to have very many registers.
Alpine Firs? Oh no, not a tree question. Your guess is as good as mine. White Pine Lake is done there farther to the right. | | Posted Sep 21, 2009 12:27 pm |

Voted 10/10 | I thought they might be Subalpine firs.
(Certainly NOT banana trees).
What I meant by "register" was a climber's
log-sheet. If there was one up there, then
some folks might try to cheat by signing
their names without doing the whole ridge
(from east-to-west or west-to-east).
How about elk? Did you see any elk wandering around in the Bear River Range? | | Posted Sep 21, 2009 7:41 pm |

Hasn't voted | I don’t remember seeing any registers on the unnamed peaks on Cottonwood Ridge. They could pop up at anytime by anyone who wants to carry one up there I guess. The named peaks probably have them, although I don’t always sign them.
I’ve seen elk, deer, and moose. Once September arrives, a lot of hunters come to the Bear River Range. I hope they aren’t looking for banana trees!
Yep, Larry has some weird comments but I’m used to them by now... | | Posted Sep 21, 2009 8:24 pm |

Voted 10/10 | If I were a moose, I'd look for a banana tree.
If I were a hunter, I'd be up a creek without
a paddle, because I don't hunt.
If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning!
I'd hammer all over this land... | | Posted Sep 21, 2009 9:45 pm |
