| probably had more to do with the routes we took (and it being the second peak of the day)....more scrambly than China Cap and lots of backwoods options to come down from. | |

| Hiked the rige over from China Cap with Flanders, very fun. Love granite, especially in Oregon where it is so rare. Found a way to scramble up to the basalt ridge and hike to the summit. Took a gully down the north side and went cross country skirting the avalanche field back to the trail. Bunch of flying bugs swarming the summit. | |

| Nice climb right after summiting China Cap. Found a nice route down the west ridge to cut some time. | |

| I left Buck Creek Trailhead at 5AM and followed trail #1944 to Burger Pass. Then I made my way up the northeast ridge to the summit, arriving at 7:15AM. I then decinded the west ridge and got back to the Trailhead at 8:30AM. | |
