From Many Pools Canyon
Went up Many Pools canyon and traipsed all over the plateau, Deertrap as well as Cable. Almost traipsed on two snakes. Did not want to go down Many Pools, so I took the east rim trail down and road walked back to my car.

From Ponderosa Ranch
With Mel and Cinda. Also went most of the way up Many Pools one day with daughter Caitlin where we saw two baby bighorns w their mothers.
From East Entrance TH & back. Wonderful long day hike - but the sight of the huge $multimillion Ponderosa Ranch facility in plain view above upper Jolley Gulch spoils it a little.
East Rim solo; snowed and rained, 18 miles at average of 3 mph, mainly to keep from becoming hypothermic.

East Rim Trail
I backpacked this with my boyfriend. We did the east rim trail to Stave Springs then to Cable Mountain. We spent a lot of time filtering water because Asa got a new water pump and was way too excited about it. It was an awesome trip.

Great Views and an awesome hike - came up through the east rim trail...wonderful
Came up via Many Pools then descended via Hidden Canyon from the top. Fun day out with DB and Double-A.

East Rim Trail
Backpacked the east rim trail with my girlfriend to Stave Springs and spent the night there. In the morning we went to Cable Mountain and hiked out that afternoon.

Cable Mountain
I had to climb Cable Mountain after seeing it from Observation Point. Hiked from the East Rim trail on a cloudy day. The view down the west face is incredible.

Hiked to Cable Mountain
via the East Rim Trail at night, due to a very late start and very early sunset. I was pleasantly surprised to encounter a group of people camped on Cable Mountain by the cable works. The trail was very well marked, until I reached a portion of rock trail, approximately a mile before the junction of the Observation Point Trail, where the rock cairns were difficult to see at night. Total mileage from the East Rim Trail to Weeping Rock Trail head (and a 6 mile detour to go to Cable Mountain) was 16 miles.
