| Attempted the peak via Canyon Creek Trail, but stopped about 1,500 feet short. We underestimated it. This is a one or two day climb only for a superstar. For the rest of us mortals, better to do a three day with two nights at Canyon Creek, with one day devoted to the peak. There is a lot of off-trail travel and boulder climbing above Upper Canyon Creek. It's very slow. None of the climbing we did in those lower areas was too technical though, so it is pretty doable even for a climber with minimal climbing experience. Great area overall... I want to take another crack at this one at some point, maybe up from the Grizzly Lake. |
