Camelback
I grew up in the valley so I've done this a few different times. It is a really fun little hike. I'm amazed how it seems to always be crowded and how I always meet people from foreign countries on the top.

Cholla Trail
In town for a Giants game, so i guess hiking Camelback was the thing to do. What a ZOO!

Camelback
Climbed from the north side with Ezra Danciu and Todd James. Bring plenty of water even early in the morning. Todd ran out and begged some guy for a drink. Hahaha! Awesome view from the top.
I've climbed it nine times during 2000-2009. Always a fun scramble via Echo Canyon.

Camelback
Hiked up via Echo Canyon in the morning, before the sun made it all the way over the mountain. It's a fun scramble——plenty of boulders and rocks, but nothing too dicey. Awesome desert scenery and great views of the Valley of the Sun from the top.
Great hike via Summit Trail! A little steaper then I had originally planned but that made the experience even better. I can't wait to go back and do it again.
Great little hike, great city views. The hike was made more challenging by the crowds of people coming down while I was going up.

Summer in Phoenix
Second time up Camelback, being in Phoenix again on business. Started at 5:30AM, at 93° F. Cholla Trail - 29 min up, 24 min down.

Yep, that would be masochistic me, hiking Camelback in the middle of August during the hottest part of the day.

From Echo Canyon
Went for a short jaunt while on vacation. I was lucky to get into the parking area. The Fire Department was on scene and while I was on the summit a rescue helicopter landed and ferried someone off to the hospital. Very nice views. Temps were moderate.

Cholla TrailheadI lived in Tempe for 4 years in the early '90s but somehow never decided to go climb Camelback.
