| 2nd Climb Mar 30, 2013: I set out determined to run up Cholla under 20 minutes this time. I was quickly stymied by the hordes of people that I did not encounter the last go around and basically gave up, thinking that it wouldn't happen. When I got close to the summit, I looked at my watch and was shocked to see that I had a chance. I re-doubled my effort and made a HUGE push for the summit. I got to the top and stopped the watch at 19:58 and sat there gasping and grunting for the next few minutes. Brit was supposed to go to the saddle in the same time so I started down for her, but she showed up only a few minutes down. I groaned at having to go back up but I accompanied her to the summit in just over 30 minutes (nice!) and we enjoyed the views for a bit before running back down. Date Climbed: Nov 24, 2012 Ran up to the top at sunset via Cholla in 21:38...pushed it pretty good. Haven't done anything like that in a long time. It was a nice follow up after doing the long run/hike up Superstition Peak yesterday. We had a fun time going down in the dark and enjoying the cooler temps. Looking forward to going back and doing it again from the echo side sometime. | |

| I grew up in the valley so I've done this a few different times. It is a really fun little hike. I'm amazed how it seems to always be crowded and how I always meet people from foreign countries on the top. | |

| Once a parking spot was secured, the rest of the hike was the easy part. Nice hike although I had a calf muscle that thinks I"m picking on it. Lots of people. | |

| Climbed from the north side with Ezra Danciu and Todd James. Bring plenty of water even early in the morning. Todd ran out and begged some guy for a drink. Hahaha! Awesome view from the top. | |

| Hiked up via Echo Canyon in the morning, before the sun made it all the way over the mountain. It's a fun scramble——plenty of boulders and rocks, but nothing too dicey. Awesome desert scenery and great views of the Valley of the Sun from the top. | ||
