Canyon Exit

This large cairn marks where you begin to ascend out of the canyon. Look just beyond it for more cairns marking the easiest route up. Should the cairn not be there when you go, know that this spot is about half a mile past the large waterfall you passed on your left and no more than 100 yards from an obvious fork near the head of the canyon. You will be heading up the first series of slabs and small cliffs that provide reasonable access to higher terrain to the north. Black Velvet Canyon; Red Rock Canyon NCA, NV-- January 2013
