Overview

Bells Canyon is a canyon that lies south of little Cottonwood Canyon.
This is perfect hike for anytime of the year.
Spring, Summer, Winter, or Fall

This Canyon has 2 reservoirs.
Lower Bells Reservoir - Easy Novice Hike
Upper Bells Reservoir - Hard and steep, for Experts.

This Canyon also has Lots of beautiful waterfalls, along with streams.

Some of the following peaks can be climbed from here.
North Thunder Mountain
South Thunder Mountain
Rocky Mouth Canyon Peak
Bells Peak
Lone Peak

Getting There

There are 2 trails that lead to Bells Canyon.


Trail 1: This trail is less steep than Trail 2.

How to get there: From where ever you live, get Wasatch Blvd.
From there turn east on S Little cottonwood Canyon Road
From there, Turn on the first parking lot you see and that's the Trailhead.



Trail 2: Steeper than Trail 1, but with better views.
How to get there:
Go to I-15.
From there, there are 2 ways you can get there.

Direction 1
If your coming from the south (Draper), get on to 12300 south.
This road will turn north, and become 1700 east.
From there, turn east on Wasatch Blvd.
Continue on, until you reach approximately 10256 south.
 
 


Direction 2
From I-15, get onto 10600 south.
Continue east and the road will curve north.
turn east on Bells Canyon Road.
from there, turn south on Wasatch Blvd.
Continue on until you see this Trailhead


Red Tape

No Fees, Part of the Lone Peak Wilderness Area.

No Dogs allowed, Watershed Area.

No littering, No graffiti, Etc....

This canyon is for you enjoyment, and for the drinking water of Sandy City residents.
