Overview

*Please note that this page will be edited upon the next few visits. Should be done in a few weeks.*

Fir Draw is the next canyon east from Falling Rock Canyon while travelling up Icehouse Canyon Trail, and is one of the many canyons that run up Ontario Peak's north side.

Fir Draw "Headwall"

Fir Draw is an adventurous way to climb Ontario Peak, or access Sheep Canyon for canyoneering purposes. There is some quality rock in the canyon that can support climbing, but the majority is down low on Fir Draw Crag, or further up on the large wall near the top.

Getting There

While travelling up Icehouse Canyon Trail, you will soon pass Falling Rock Canyon. This canyon divides Sugarloaf Peak from Ontario Peak. The next canyon east from FRC is Fir Draw.

The first section of the canyon is choked by heavy brush and vines. Staying right (west) keeps you out of the worst. This peters out after a short distance, and the canyon opens up to scree and talus.

Red Tape

If one enters the Cucamonga Wilderness, a permit is required. These permits can be obtained from the Baldy Visitor's Center, in Baldy Village.
