Overview

Fay Canyon is a small yet picturesque red rock canyon located just outside Sedona, Arizona. Fay Canyon Trail #53 leads from the trailhead at the mouth to end where the canyon boxes out. A short side trip on an unmaintained social trail accesses the popular Fay Canyon Arch carved out of the famed Schnebly Hill Formation. Bouldering and scrambling can also be done in the canyon.

Getting There

From the "Y" in Sedona, drive west on Highway 89A. Turn right at Dry Creek Road. Turn left onto Boynton Canyon Road, then another left onto Boynton Pass Road. The trailhead is signed on your left, with plenty of parking. The whole way is paved.

Red Tape

A Red Rock Pass is required for parking at the trailhead.
