| The upper last pitches of the icefall were in poor shape and a large piece had fallen down. Up to there it is easy cruising and a beautiful place | ||

| Beautiful plastic ice on a sunny -30 degree day. Soloed the first half, roped up and finished the route. Some nice vertical here and nice raps down. A couple of idiots on the route, hard to avoid on a strip of ice ten feet wide. | ||

| Since we decided to fly out of Calgary the following morning instead, we had some time to kill. Quick ascent of Cascade is just what we were looking for. We decided to wait until the sun was no longer hitting the route due to Avi concerns above. At 5:30pm, Dane and I headed up. We roped up for the last 3 pitches. Got up in 3 hours and immediately headed down, eventually making it to the at 10pm. If you haven't climbed Cascade at night, go do it. It's really fun and you get a very different perspective. | ||

| Great outing with my partner. Being the first time out for ice climbing this year, we pitched out from near the bottom. The last pitch was very rotten and thin. I would but it at WI3+. Rapped off in the dark. Fun! | ||

| Tom Fralich | Christmas Climb ![]() Date Climbed: Dec 25, 2007 | |
| David Huang and I climbed this route on Christmas Day, 2007. We didn't get an early start, but were still the first party on the route. We avoided some of the low angle stuff down low by sticking to the trees on the right, then soloed a bit, and finally roped up for the final two pitches. The climbing on the last pitch was exciting, with awkward windblown ice and water rushing underneath. The descent was fast and easy...a great way to spend Christmas. | ||

| That was a fun climb while basking in the sun! Close to the road, confortable temps, easy descent, a beer and the Banff Mountain Film festival to top off the day. Life is good! | ||

| Great day out with Peter. We soloed up to the last four pitches which were in stellar condition. Had the route to ourselves. I don't recommend climbing below anyone, as some people do on this route. | ||
