True Summit  Sucess!

The point commonly known as Cascade Head is not a peak. It is barely a bump on a ridge. The true summit of the mountain of Cascade Head is point 1783. To access it, I just followed the ridge Northeast. The hike was amazing especially for a guy from Utah. I applaud the conservancy efforts of Oregonians with the parking restrictions and letting the forest regrow were roads once were. This is something that is greatly lacking in my state. It was amazing to experience fog so thick that it "rained" from the trees on one side of the ridge and not the other. I never experienced this even when living in Costa Rica.

Fall Hike  Sucess!

I went with my brother Don on a beautiful Friday. Sunny with amazing views of the coastline. We were able to take in an amazing sunset from high up on the hill. One of my favorite hikes to date.

Awesome views  Sucess!

I hiked this one with my brother-in-law, Michael Eschenberg. Beautiful coastal headland hike. The next day, a bunch of us from our family reunion hiked the Drift Creek Falls trail, another Lincoln City local hike in the nearby vicinity that I recommend just as much or more.

Great Winter hike  Sucess!

We took an amazing hike out here last weekend, and caught some breathtaking scenery. Awesome surprise in February!

Great hike  Sucess!

This is a beautiful hike, especially on a clear day. I'm lucky because I live five minutes away.

Great Ride  Sucess!

Had a fun time doing this one with a bike. Of course we carried it most of the way. Not recommended as we found out that bikes are not allowed.

First time  Sucess!

Part of a weekend celebrating return form active duty. At that time you could walk all the waay out to the point. Several more times over the years.

nice  Sucess!

Nice hike; lots of dense forests and open seascape. Took my mom for her 60th bday and she unfortunately bit it on the way down (so be careful out there - trail often v. muddy and slick). Last I checked, no dogs on Nature Conservancy land. :(

Nice one  Sucess!

I'm guessing at the date on this one. Hiked up this one from the lower trailhead with my old girlfriend whose grandparents live on the same road as the boat ramp. I do remember going off into the woods to find a secluded spot on the way down off to the north of the grassy area. :- )

Hart's Cove Viewpoint  Sucess!

I have done this one a few times now. Once on Thanksgiving, 2004 and once over summer, 2005. A great hike. Fun to scramble doen to the water's edge here, although probably not really all that safe.

Night hike  Sucess!

The fog made for a nice eerie setting.

Splendid  Sucess!

The massive grassy summit meadows displayed a herd of elk.

Loved this hike  Sucess!

Did this hike 3 times in 1999! The hike from the lower trailhead is a lot of bang for your buck. Portions of the trail are steep but the scenery is wonderful. I love the lower part hiking through the lush and green old-growth forest and what a contrast when you step out onto the grassy and wide-open headland!
