The range of scenery encountered on this mountain is just unbelievable. You start in the outskirts of the city in an arid environment. You then move on to the foothills that are covered by yellow/dry grass and go on to see scattered Juniper trees. As you go up the southern slopes, alpine tundra appears and it soon becomes nothing more than snow and rock. You then descend the northern slopes into lush meadows and finally a sub-tropical steamy forest.
