Cerro del Gato: "The Cat"
I found a marker off the trail on the north side of the ridge line indicating a bushwhack route up. A short but pretty steep trek up to the rocky sections on the ridge. A maneuver to the right around a class 3-4 cliff led to the "crux" boulder chute as described. Nice scramble finish to the summit. I took an alternate route down which was more moderate than the one up. Plenty of rocks & vampire veg to be careful with. It appears there are numerous routes up & down *(I saw some a few cairns on both routes I took.)

Northeast slopes
With Scott Peavy, second of two peaks we climbed today (Golden Gate being the first). We hiked a trail traversing north and east of the summit, then followed a steep slope/ridge from the NE catching the summit ridge about 1/8-mile SE of the summit. From there it was an easy hike to the top. Our route only had one crux section, a low class-3 move with exposure. Otherwise, it was steep brushy slopes, but very easy overall.

Northwest Ridge
While my parents and husband strolled the trails of Tucson Mountain Park, I made my way up the Northwest Ridge of this awesome desert peak. Year after year I would gaze at this peak - and finally I got the chance to ascend it! The scramble was delightful and the views were fantastic.
