When setting out, it's faster to stay on top of alluvial fans instead of just following a wash. Once in the gorge, be careful not to veer off in the wrong direction. From the saddle just short of 5200' the summit is visible as cap-rock cliffs. On the north side of the summit cap-rock are a series of class 3 ledges that will take you to the top.
