Add Heading hereVjetrenica (wind cave) is one of the most interesting caves in the Dinaric Alps mountain range. Its entrance is nearby the village Zavala in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the summer time a strong cold wind blows from its entrance. Our guide said that there are more then two hundred different species found in this cave and lot of them are endemic. We have seen only Proteus anguinus.
The old Orthodox monastery Zavala is located near the cave . There is no reliable information about its origin, but it is supposed to originate from the ninth century.
Interesting place to visit.
