Chirripo  Sucess!

Day one climbing 7,300 feet from the ranger station up to the hut was long and grueling. And yes, those showers are freezing cold! Day two up to the summit was a breeze. Beautiful country!

Cold...and hungry  Sucess!

Camped in the hut...All the locals had warm food. We had cereal... Views were well worth it.

Newbies Above Treeline for Sunrise  Sucess!

Four of my friends (Derik, Amanda, Paul, and Caitlin) and I woke at 2:15 on the trail by 3 and hit the summit at 5:05 for a nice sunrise. There was a fair amount of clouds so the sun rose later than usual and the clouds started raining at 11:30 after we explored some other untrodden peaks of the park. After two months of heat in Costa Rica it seemed quite cold.

Nice  Sucess!

We got to the summit before dawn and the sun rising above the Carribean was beautiful, although it didn't come up fast enough to really warm us up!
