Beautiful spring day for a hike, even though it was short it was sweet. Up and back in less than an hour. The mountain was looking very green today for a desert peak. After Champlin Peak I went down and did the highpoint in the Drum Mountain Range. I had intentions of doing Keg mountain as well but was running low on time.

Nice little hike
the weather was perfect for a hike of Fool Creek Peak but when I got to the road that leads up the canyon, it was closed to all traffic. So, I grabbed my to do list and discovered that nearby was a prominence peak, Champlin Peak. I headed that way and found the right roads that led me close to the peak. From where I parked, it was a nice hike although not the ten miler I had hoped to do on Fool Creek Peak. A good plan would be to combine the two on the same day.
