Charles Mound, the Illinois State high point. I forgot my ice ax and crampons, but still managed to make it to the top. August 7, 2004.

Hasn't voted | I clarified the description a bit on the main page. Charles Mound is on private property. The route to the high point follows the owner's gravel driveway from paved Charles Mound Road. Just follow the dirt road all the way to the high point marker, just past the owner's farmhouse. It's about a 1 mile hike from the metal gate to the high point. | | Posted Oct 4, 2004 9:43 pm |
