Chicago Basin Goat
Goats have become incredibly accustomed to humans in Chicago Basin, they often lick up campers urine just for the salts left behind! It is recommended to pee on rocks to help protect the tundra because the goats will dig up the tundra for the salts. This is such a problem that the Forest Service actually closed the upper basin (around Twin Lakes) just because of the impacts campers were having on goat habitat and the consequential trashing of the tundra. Things seem to be getting better though, these guys kept to themselves when they visited our camp on the way out...
