Chief Mountain summit view
Looking southwest from Chief Mountain. Many of Glacier NP's peaks are visible from the narrow, crumbled summit. Mount Merritt is the snow covered peak just right of center in the far distance, with Mount Cleveland the large bulk to the right. Just behind Cleveland are Kintla and Kinnerly Peaks. The pointed thumb left of center is Iceberg Peak, with Mount Wilbur just to the left. Slide Lake, named as such because of the large rock slide that formed the lake, lies in the lower left corner.
