I know I've seen these panoramas before but I just stumbled onto them again. What an amazing set of images. The route page is good too. I think I'll try it out next year.
Being one who both ascended and descended the gullies from the PCT, I can say that this is no shortcut, and it is grueling. There really is no gully that extends the entire length. Rather, it is a series of gullies. As you are descending, each gully dead ends into a cliff, and you need to traverse (to the left is preferable) to find another gully or you'll get stuck. You need to do this traverse at least three times. It is a long and tedious descent, and by the time you're down to the PCT, you're sapped.
