Voted 10/10 | That looks like a very challenging route
indeed. I have viewed limestone outcrops in
central Europe and central Arizona, but
NOTHING like this.
What were the forces necessary to create a
mountain like this? It must be a fault zone.
Do you find limestone "easier" to GRIP and
scramble upon than say ... sandstone?
This is really an impressive chunk of rock!!!

The rockies are all thrust faults but the layers are usually lower angled. It is really impressive to see vertical limestone layers like Smuts or Mount Louis. The limestone here is grippier even when wet as compared to most rock. | | Posted Oct 2, 2008 3:50 pm |
