Voted 10/10 | That's an awesome shot, Mark. I may soon make a moon-themed album. If I do, I hope you'll consider attaching this.
Again, great shot!

Hasn't voted | Certainly, I will. There is already one moon album, though, just titled "Moons". But you have an uncanny way of distinguishing your albums that works quite well. :-) --mark d. | | Posted Oct 27, 2006 11:23 am |

Voted 10/10 | I didn't know about the album, and I don't have any thematic ideas for my moon album that would really set it apart from the preexisting one. Maybe I'll just attach my shots to that album.
The other idea I have, to get newer shots more notice, is to adopt that page (all Josh's pages are up for adoption), delete it, and recreate it by asking for new submissions and attaching some from the current album. There are some wonderful shots in the album, but my problem with many of them is that they're "fake"-- obvious double exposures, etc. in the shots featuring unnaturally large moons. I don't like that because I like to photograph what I see the way it actually is (to the best of my ability). I can live with cropping and some filter usage, and in fact do some of both myself, but I'm pretty against other types of tweaking with images, and there's a lot of that in the "Moons" album.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on my adopt/delete/recreate idea.

Hasn't voted | Photographing the moon and the ground and securing something special can be a challenge. What you might do is create a special moons album where folks are asked to include all technical details for any attached images. It's always interesting to find out how people accomplish certain images, and at least those who are more "creative" in their photography (I am, on occasion, but not with this particular image) would be expected to explain what they did. --mark d. | | Posted Oct 30, 2006 8:36 pm |

Voted 10/10 | I may just do a private-attach page so that it doesn't seem so redundant. That way, the shots can get some attention for a few days on the What's New list instead of being buried on a page that probably doesn't see too much visitation now, but afterwards they'll just be there for my own enjoyment mostly.
Something I'm chewing on now is a tree-themed album, but for specific types as opposed to the broader ones already on SP. For example, maybe one on aspens and another on bristlecone pines, two of my favorite trees. These albums would be "open attach."

Voted 10/10 | Mark, please consider attaching this to my new "Moonscapes" album. In the end, I couldn't resist doing something with the moon, but I did try for a bit of a different twist. You'll see if you visit the page, and this shot fits the idea exactly.
