Christmas Present-My first experience with an axe

Unconventional use of the ice axe

Sunshine, So close yet so far!

A Mini Glissade!

My husband EastKing know how much I love snow so right now me is trying to prepare me to go on trip that have snow all year round. I need a little conditioning in order to do them but my husband want me to get my feet wet. We decided to go to Snoqualmie Pass and head up about a tenth of a mile up the Snow Lake trail. My husband showed me how to walk with the ice axe on the way up. When we got to a field, we realized the snow was way too powdery for practice so we decided to head back to the car. On the way back I did some many glissades but nothing that required extra equipment. Here are some pictures of that day. Prepare to laugh at some. I was a little upset at parts of the trip!

Merry Christmas!
