A Little Extra Peakbagging Date Climbed: Sep 12, 2011
This "peak" does not have enough prominence to be considered its own mountain, but due to it being so close to Mount Rose and because it is an officially-named summit I decided to make the trek over to it. I was completely fascinated by the very large piles of rocks scattered on the upper slopes. I kept wondering who put them there, and why.
There was a lot of snow along the trail. It was sometimes hard to follow the trail. It was very windy at the summit. I left some gloves near the top when I was tying my shoe. I had the gloves for 12 years. Unfortunate that I lost them. However, it was a tough summit to get, and I got it in cold and snow on the ground and wind, so I am satisfied.
A quick dayhike to get some exertion at altitude before heading the the High Sierra this week for a couple 14ers. Views were heavily impacted by all the wildfires. Chased down during descent by some hail.
