Chute

This, I believe, is the chute (leading to a short chimney) mentioned in Rambles and Scrambles, and you can see the "large, healthy Ponderosa pine" at its base. If CP, the author, says it goes, then it goes, but there is actually a less complicated way by continuing to traverse around to the northeastern side of the peak and then using a pair of gullies to reach the summit area.
