Overview

Cima dell Alberghetto and Cima del Coro from SSW

Cima del Coro lies between Cime del Màrmor and Cima dell'Alberghetto, at the head of Val Canali, and belongs at the mountainous ridge that divide this valley from Val d'Angheràz. At the base of its NE side there is a very little glacier, Màrmor Glacier. Its beautiful and large SW wall is covered by many routes done by important climbers, because the rock is very good and stable. The normal route is quite difficult ( 2nd and 3rd degree ) but very interesting. It follows the route gone by the first climbers, W. Lohmuller, W. Paulcke and O. Schuster in 1896, and goes up from SE. You must start from Treviso Hut m 1631 and follow the path n. 707 in the direction of Passo Canali. When you arrive to the cross with the path that leads to Via Ferrata Fiamme Gialle, you turn on the right and go up along the Via Ferrata up to the end of the first slope, near the canal that goes up to to Forcella del Màrmor. Now you leave the Ferrata and go up along the first easy rocks under Torre del Giubileo. You enter in the canal that divides this tower from Cima del Coro and go up along it ( difficult, there are some pitons for the descent ) up to the little saddle at the end of it. Now you cross to the northern side of the mountain and overcome a smooth wall. Now you go beyond a large natural hole visible also from Val Canali and arrive, now easily, to the top. ( Report by Luca Visentini ).

TIMES OF RANGE : Treviso Hut m 1631 - Start of the route = h 2.30

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."   --Calvin Coolidge
