Cinereous vulture

Cinereous vulture

Cinereous vulture seen on Cerro de Matalafuente. Watch beak and claws to see what a ferrocious animal this is. Cinereous vultures are the largest birds of prey in Europe and probably the whole eastern hemisphere. In size they match the Californian Condor with a wingspan of up to 3m. This one perched a few steps aside from our hiking trail and waited just as long for this picture to be taken. Afterwards it unfolded its wings and soared away. June 16th 2017

Re: Nice picture...

hmm - I'm not sure vultures can be beautiful. But huge and impressive seems to fit. On the other hand - doesn't it seem to smile?
